EPT - Acceptance of reusable trays

Many consumers want less plastic to be produced, and similar efforts are being made by politicians: from January 2030, the use of single-use plastic in the B2B sector will no longer be permitted for national transport and transport within a company group. Also international B2B transports will have to comply with new regulations demanding a high percentage of reuse packaging use.

In order to continue transporting horticultural products safely, an alternative to conventional established single-use plastic trays, of which over 500 million are currently used in Europe every year, is needed.

In this survey, Euro Plant Tray eG would like to find out more about your views on reusable tray systems as an alternative to today’s solutions. The 30 international EPT members are aiming for a standardised industry solution that creates new opportunities in process automation and supply chain efficiency within Europe in addition to significantly reducing plastic.

By taking part in the survey, you will help the EPT to better understand the need for reusable solutions and possibly remove existing barriers.

Processing activity, purpose and legal basis

This information relates to the processing of personal data in connection with the online survey [EPT acceptance of reusable systems] conducted by GreenSurvey GmbH [on behalf of EPT]. The survey will take place in the period from 15.01.2025 to 31.01.2025. The prerequisite for the material scope of application of the General Data Protection Regulation is the existence of personal data in accordance with Art. 4 No. 1 GDPR.

As a rule, no personal data is collected when answering the questions. However, we cannot rule out the possibility that the choice or wording of the answers may allow conclusions to be drawn about the person of the participant.

Your personal data will be processed. This includes processing your data for the following purposes in particular:

    Distribution of the survey/sending the survey link via social media and at IPM Essen
    Evaluation and analysis of the acceptance of reusable systems in horticulture
    Publication of individual results in anonymous and aggregated form

The legal basis is your voluntarily given consent in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR. You have the right to refuse this consent or to withdraw it at any time with effect for the future, without this resulting in any disadvantages for you. Duration of storage of personal data

Once your personal data has been collected by GreenSurvey GmbH, it will only be processed and stored for as long as is necessary to evaluate and analyze the survey results. Your personal data will be deleted after completion of the assignment by EPT, at the latest after the end of the retention period of one year after completion of the assignment. Thereafter, the survey results will only be used in anonymized form.
